A few days back I reviewed Cliff Builder's Bars. Today I'm checking out PowerBar Protein Plus Bars. These 210 calorie bars contain 20 grams of protein from the company's "TriSource™ blend of whey, soy and casein proteins."
As I write I'm munching on the peanut butter cookie flavored version. What stands out most with this particular bar, as compared to Cliff Builder's Bars, and other bars I've tasted is the "chew-ability." Most high-protein bars seem to be very dense, and even hard. PowerBar Protein Plus Bars are still pretty dense, but also relatively soft, chewy, and easy to swallow.
I've gone through two or three boxes (6 each) in the last few months. I typically use them post-workout or at night to fight off hunger before bed, with no apparent stomach issues resulting.
Usually priced between $6.50 and $8 per box of 6
