Beer Review #104
A few days ago I reviewed Tell-Tale Tart (review) from Kansas City based Boulevard Brewing Co. Today I'm checking out Tank 7 Farmhouse Ale from the same brewer, and like the earlier brew, this one is also part of the Boulevard Smokestack Series.
Boulevard Brewing describes Tank 7 as "A refreshing American rendition of a classic Belgian style, Tank 7 starts with a surge of alluring aromatics. Lush notes of tropical fruits deftly frame its sweet body of crisp, bready malt."
I'd describe it as a slightly cloudy straw colored beer with a huge, lingering head of creamy white foam and moderate carbonation.
The aroma is mostly floral, with hints of subdued Belgian yeast esters. As far as taste, its definitely a Belgian ale - spicy//peppery, and perhaps a bit of clove or even ginger. At 8.5%ABV this is essentially a Tripel.
