Tarte Nouveau Session Sour (review)

Beer Review #121

Following yesterday's review of Avery Raspberry Sour (review #120) is Tarte Nouveau Session Sour, a very approachable sour ale from the consistently impressive brew masters at Eastern Pennsylvania's Weyerbacher.

Coming in at a very slight 3.9%ABV, this is I said above, a very approachable sour ale, not only because of its very low alcohol content, but also in terms of aroma and flavor.

Tarte Nouveau  pours pale, clear and golden. There is no lasting head of foam to speak of, after the torrent of crisp, snappy effervescent bubbles quickly vanishes.

The aroma is faint and fruity. The flavor just slightly sour, like under-ripened grapes or apples,  thanks to that friendly little microbe - mr. lactobacillus.

Musical Pairing: Thick Skin by Motion Device
