Kentucky Blackberry Porter

Beer Review #180

Hey folks! Its been about 35 days since my last beer review video and far longer since my last written review (though I intend to begin doing more written reviews again). So here we are on the fourth day of March 2018 and I'm checking out Kentucky Bourbon Barrel Blackberry Porter from Alltech Lexington Brewing & Distilling Co., the company with a horribly corporate sounding name that also happens to produce quite a few stellar brews.

This mild mannered 8.3%ABV / 16IBU porter pours a little thinner and paler than I typically expect from a porter but isn't lacking on aroma and flavor.

Mosey up to the glass with that big honker of yours and delight in the fruity tartness of blackberry and bourbon(y) vanilla that come across here like cherry Gose and with a school of black cherry ice cream.

That fruity tartness follows through to the taste, but adds more barrel in the form a high school wood shop tanic oak note.

The mouthfeel is surprisingly light and airy with ample carbonation pushing the flavors around the mouth as the beer circles the drain of eternity on the way to your delighted stomach.

I'm digging this beer a little more now than I was mere minutes again when I took my first taste on camera. You can check out that video below and if you know what's good for you you'll subscribe to my channel on youtube today:
